Matariki- Gardening elective

Gardening

This week to support Matariki and new beginnings the IA's had electives to help show case the Maori New Year.  In room 15 we did gardening.   The children did the weeding, turned the soil and planted our vegetable seeds.   I have gone in this weekend and seen some plants sprouting and I know the children will be so excited to see this.   I have set up monitors in our class to help with the up keep of the garden.  We will be working along side the enviro-group to get max value from our garden.

I would like to thank Mrs Roberson family company Kings Seeds for their kind donation of seeds and planting containers.
