week 2 inquiry

The last 2 weeks room 15 have been experimenting with rubbish.   We have made an ocean and decided to put all our rubbish on the ground into it.

What did we do?

We put rubbish in our ocean and it was green, ugly and smelly.

                

What do I think with the pollution in our ocean?

It was disgusting, old and gross .

How did it get like that?

Room 15 left  over  rubbish.  We picked  it up and put it in the water and we saw  it was  green and yellow .

How do I show my PRIDE so it does not happen?

I can show my pride by respect the rubbish and putting  it  in  the recycling bin and  we can  show our integrity by making good with the rubbish.

What did we do?  

First we left the rubbish on the ground. then we picked Mr Savage put it in the ocean.

What do I think with the pollution in our ocean?

It was very gooey and the fish would have died in it.

How did it get like that.

Room 15 put rubbish in the clean ocean and then it turned brown and yellow.

How do I show my PRIDE so it does not happen again?

When you are eating something you can put  it in the bin. You can put the recyclable items into the places.

As a class we discussed and talked about prevention of the water getting polluted.  we also talked about some of the reasons why.

Danzil.....   For our ocean,  We learnt how it gets into our ocean and how it does not.

Agins....  We explored the different items in the water.  We talked about what can be recyclable and what needed to go in the rubbish bin

Anton....  First we found the rubbish on the ground.   Then we picked it up and put it in the rubbish.   

NEXT STEP-  TRY TO USE OUR PRIDE VALUES TO KEEP OUR OCEAN CLEAN AND HOW WE CAN KEEP PLANET EARTH CLEAN 

Our pollution inquiry

I dug a hole in the ground and then I dug all the dirt out of the hole.

Then I put some food scraps in the hole to see what happens to them in 8 weeks.  Next I put the dirt and the grass back into the hole.  Tinalya

After finish lunchtime I buried  food scarps into the ground.  It was fun when i put food scarps into the hole.   We buried it at the back of the school.  we buried the food scarps, because we are going to see what happens to the fruit.   First mr Savage dug some dirt up to bury the food scarps, next i dug some more dirt out of the ground so its deep enough to  bury the scarps.  Then I put the food scraps back in the hole.  Next I stood on the dirt to straighten it.   I put some stones on top of it so I don't forget where I buried it. I dug a hole and I put the plastic rubbish in the hole.   Then we got to grab a chromebook and we went to the staffroom to write this bog.  Eric

I buried the paper rubbish in the ground.  I buried the paper behind the green container in our school.

Fonterra special guest helping create our niuean placemats

On Wednesday we has some special guest.   

The lovely people of Fonterra visited our school.  For those that didn't know.  Our school

is privileged enough to get free milk to drink during school times. 

This week is also niuean language week.  To help celebrate, our school 

has given every class a challenge of making a placement.  This is our afternoon with Fonterra.

Week 2- stardome trip

Room 15 were on a trip going to Stardome. When we were on the way the class was extremely excited. It was a huge trip, we saw oceans, towers and other sorts of buildings. It was 

a long trip, by getting there in a bus it had taken us an hour to get there. We sang some songs on the way to Stardom, we were having so much fun until we stopped by at Stardome.

When I came  in to the stardome it was exciting. I learnt about space and how far you would  have to travel to other planets.  It takes 3days to go to the moon.  It takes 9 months to go to Mars.

I learnt when you mix air gas and water  it makes the water explode  every where

I felt good when I saw the park. 

I heard a lot of noise like screaming at the park.  We played in the hut at the park, and the octopus arms.   It was exciting to play in the park.   

Funky Monkey's Gardening

Welcome to term 4.  I hope that you and your children had an awesome break. 

This week the Funky Monkey's did some gardening.    The children were able to harvest, seeding, eating the veges, and taking produce home.
