Lest we forget.....




This week we have celebrated and remember those fallen soldiers that served for our country.  Each morning we stood and remember by looking at our special wall.

Maths with Mrs Maine

These children are learning to round to the nearest 10s.   This is practise work for this group after seeing the teacher.  












This is the first post that the children are recording the learning.   Which in turn, leads to some camera behaviour :)















Te Reo- Whakatua

The way the Funky Monkeys start our day is by perform a whakatua.    The children have been learning this during our te-reo maori time.

There are 3 parts to the whakatua
-  Karakia

Kia inoi tatou


Manawa mai te mauri nuku
Manawa mai te mauri rangi
Ko te mauri kei au, he mauri tipua

Ka pakaru mai te po

Tau mai te mauri

Haumi e, hui e, taiki e!



-  Mihimihi

Kia ora tatou te whanau o kura po

tenei te mihi ki a koe e (name of karakia starter) mo nga karakia whakaritea tenei ata


ki te whare e tu mai nei, tu mai, tau mai ra

otira kia tatou te whanau kua tae mai nei, tena tatou katoa

Kei te mihi hoki ki te kaupapa e whakakaonei i a tatou tenei ka mihi

no reira e te whanau, e nga kaiako, koutou katoa e aku rangatira, tena koutou katoa
