Trevor's maths learning

I learnt how to skip count in 2's 5's 10's-


My question in teacher lesson was:
Roslyn has 15 chocolate bars. Trevor very kindly  gave her 10  more. how many
does she have altogether?

Because I knew Roslyn had 15 chocolate bars, and I gave her 10 more chocolate bars,  I skipped counted in 2's then i got 25.

Isis painting blog

I learnt how to landscape paint with Mr Anand and it was fun painting.  I also learnt how to blend colours.  During this art  I learnt to landscape my painting so it looks flat.  I also learnt how to hold the paint brush.  

Geometry

This week we were learning about geometry.  

Here is a fun activity to help activate their prior knowledge.  The children were given a chalk and asked to go and draw all the shapes they know.  If students could name them that would have been a bonus

What an awesome night.  A lot of families as you can see turned up.  It was good to see some of the Funkey Monkeys parents turn up.  

Cook Island Language Ei's

This week is Cook Island language week, here is a part of the assembly and our finish product of the Ei's.

The children worked with buddies on a level 1 question.  They were given a word problem and told to come up with strategy to solve a question.   To explain their answer they had to draw, write in words and use a numeric strategy to solve and this is what the children came up with.

Celebration dinner with the Angel's

Tonight I went to Trevor Angel's house to celebrate with his family.   His father (Trevor), 1 older brother (Roscoe Rm19), 2 older sisters and 1 younger sister,

We were celebrating Trevor's participation in getting to school on time.  Working with dad and teacher to get himself up on a time and ready.   Since this has happen Trevor has gone up in his reading and maths.  

Well Done Trevor keep it up. Thank you whanau for having me.
